Sysco: Supplies on the Fly

Sysco-owned Supplies on the Fly needed a new website that could handle a hefty navigation system of products, because of the tremendous variation of products they carry. I created wireframes and designs for this project, looking for ways to categorize and make the usability as clear, simple and visually engaging as possible. This site includes a master page housing 5 divisions of products based on occasion. Each of those divisions has its own home page, since each has its own brand under Supplies on the Fly. These divisions are defined by logo and color in the header, and the color continues through the internal pages. From these pages, a tab-like navigation bar is included above the header for simple division-switching from any internal pages. Some of these home pages have a “storytelling” layout that includes more types of media before getting into the product listings, while others have a simple categorization that takes over the home page with engaging photography. Since the company’s customers primarily do their shopping in a desktop view, the navigation takes advantage of that real estate and reveals up to three levels of subcategorization for that brand division to give visibility to the user and minimize the guesswork of where to find certain products.
